indeed, we are looking forward to this... you see, it's one thing to do a show with just our own voice- we are quite familiar with that. it's ANOTHER thing to have another person there, who shares similar perspectives.
the goal of 'guess who's coming to radio??!!' is to address issues we feel are important in order for people with a direct afrikan lineage to educate themselves, in order to be self-sufficient: mentally, physically- and ultimately economically. ahjamu umi urges an active-ism where the motherland is in its spirit.
umi works with 'occupy portland' at large, and specifically with 'occupy n.e.- the black working group'. he is also the author of 'find the flower that blossoms', a novel which takes a journey of a woman's self-discovery. we'll discuss the novel, his active-ism in the motherland as well as the goal towards an afrikan sensibility in the west; we will also ask him to respond to his critics (in our research we did find some very public critiques).
