On La Ruleta we'll be playing a very rare recording by Tino Contreras untitled Quinto Sol, Musica Infinita (The 5th Sun, Infinite Music) from 1978. This is very rare LP, with a limited edition of 200 or 300 albums. It is the only known recording with a combination of Julian's Carrillo Sonido 13 and Jazz. Microintervalic Harps are used, along with pre Hispanic and Jazz instruements. It is truly amazing music.
Also, Free Jazz by Henry West. Another extremely rare recording released only in a short run of tapes in the late 70's, early 80's.
Another rare album by Hesiquio Ramos y Su Trio called Jazz Popular. Ramos was the keyboard player for the psychedelic rock band Los Monjes in the 60's. This album was recorded before his rock career.
If time permits, more jazz, with the album Nuestro Jazz, from 1966.
