Triangle Productions presents Jim Pepper Project with Don Horn and Ed Edmo
Tune in for special membership edition featuring music of Native American jazz legend Jim Pepper in new original show at Triangle Productions. Dmae Roberts talks with playwright/director Don Horn about the legacy of Jim Pepper. Horn is staging a music and storytelling tribute to this famed musician and features Chochise Anderson as Pepper, Edmo as his grandfather and performers Karen Kitchen and Salim Sanchez.
We'll be giving away tickets for memberships during this show. Also available will be a pair of tickets to Portland Center Stage's The Last Five Years and two pairs of tickets to Coho Productions' Maple and Vine.
More on Jim Pepper: James G. Pepper in Salem, Oregon, June 18, 1941 and died in Portland February 10, 1992 from lymphoma. He was an American jazz saxophonist, composer. His "Witchi Tai To" (derived from a peyote song of the Native American Church which he had learned from his grandfather) is the most famous example of this hybrid style; the song has been covered by many other artists.
