Anon It Moves & String House Theatre Collaborate + Original Practice Shakespeare

Dmae Roberts talks with Anon It Moves and String House Theatre and Original Practice Shakespeare Festival. We'll hear from directors Elizabeth Watt, Emily Gregory and actor Erica Terpening-Romeo from two young companies collaborating on productions of Shakespeare's Hamlet and Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. And in the latter part of the show Brian Allard of OPSfest joins us to talk about an unusual  A Midsummer Night's Dream cast by the audience and all the rest of the season of plays in the parks.

Anon It Moves and String House Theatre have produced some inventive and experimental works in the last two years and now are working together to produce two-related plays in repertory. We'll find out what sets these new companies apart from other companies producing Shakespeare this summer and hear a piece performed by a female Hamlet.

Original Practice Shakespeare Festival revives the original folio editions of the plays which include all the cues for actors so the roles can be performed without rehearsal. All the shows are outside and rely on minimal sets and lots of improvisatory techniques. This season OPSFest asked the audience to cast the actors in its production A Midsummer Night's Dream
