'O Romeo' at Miracle Theatre & 'New Now Wow' at NW Dance Project
What would October be without a Day of the Dead celebration? Dmae Roberts checks in Olga Sanchez, artistic director of Miracle Theatre who has put together a new Dia de los Muertos meets Shakespeare's famous dead characters. We'll find out which Shakespearean character Sanchez has brought back to life (sort of) in this inventive concept. It's all part of Portland's 400th year anniversary committment to produce all of Shakespeare's sworks within two years. And in the second part of the show, Sarah Slipper artistic director of NW Dance Project fill us in on "New Now Wow" - three piece created by  world-class master choreographers including Portland's Minh Tran.

Milagro Theatre, 525 SE Stark St., Portland

Bilingual - World Premiere - Conceived and directed by Olga Sanchez

Shakespeare is alive but not well at all. His time draws near and friends from “the other side” have begun to visit!  But are these friends real or simply the creations of his imagination?  Hamlet, Ophelia, Titania and more circle his deathbed while he fights to write his last play!  Has he gone mad?  Is he reading too many stories of the New World?  What surprises will the joy of Día de los Muertos bring to the beloved Bard?
