Tune into to a membership drive edition Tues May 3rd at 11am with "A Wrinkle In Time" at Oregon Children's Theatre and A Thousand Little Cities at BodyVox Dance. The classic book by Madeleine L'Engle comes alive with a fantasy and sci-fi adventure. Director Marcella Crowson and actor Madeleine Rogers joins host Dmae Roberts to talk about bringing this beloved book to the stage. And we'll also check in with Jamey Hampton at rehearsal for A Thousand Little Cities.
We'll be offering tickets to both these shows plus Portland Center Stage and Oregon Shakespeare Festival during KBOO's Spring membership drive. Please make your membership donation today!
The story of "A Wrinkle In Time" begins on a stormy night as three brave children venture through time and space on an urgent rescue mission. In the spirit of the Narnia and Harry Potter books, this children's classic also features sci-fi concepts.
The production at Oregon Children's Theatre runs May 14-June 5 at the Newmark Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway in Portland.
And Dmae checks in with Jamey Hampton with a "Fly On The Wall" chat during a A Thousand Little Cities. Bodyvox calls it their "most distinctly American work." The company just returned from a four-city European tour and presenting this work with visual images by Tad Savinar and music ranging from Bono/The Edge to John Adams and Aphex Twin.
A Thousand Little Cities, May 5-21, The BodyVox Dance Center, 1201 NW 17th Ave. in Portland.
