Tune in for a focus on Fertile Ground Festival of  New Works on Tues Jan. 15th at 11am on KBOO 90.7FM. Dmae Roberts talks with Nicole Lane, festival  director of Fertile Ground about the 5th annual Portland festival. Polaris Dance and  composer Richard Moore of the  Rain! The Musical at David Poulshock Productions. We'll be giving away a pass to the festival to on-air callers.

Polaris Dance Theatre & Michael Allen Harrison presents Snowman & the Red Thread with Music by MichaelAllen Harrison, Choreography by Robert Guitron

With an original score composed and performed live at every performance by renowned pianist Michael Allen Harrison and guests, Snowman & The Red Thread is a children’s story written by Polaris Dance Theatre Artistic Director Robert Guitron and Michael Allen Harrison. It tells the captivating tale of a young child who embarks on a fantastical journey through a series of magical lands and returns home to see the world through new eyes. This production features the full company of Polaris Dance Theatre as well as 46 students from ages 3-17 from the Polaris Dance Center.

Performances are January 24, 25 & 26 at 7:30 p.m at Lincoln Hall at Portland State University (1620 SW Park Avenue).

Rain! The Musical is the story of a one-hit-wonder rocker who returns home to Portland to woo back the lover he jilted and the city he abandoned – only to discover that it hasn’t rained in 274 days. Not a drop. When he finds himself asking, “What’s the point of Portland without the rain?” all hell breaks loose.
