Curtis Acosta joins Abe & Joe to talk about discrimination in public schools
The State of Arizona recently tried to ban a Mexican-American studies program in its public schools, on the grounds that the classes made students resent white people. (No, seriously. This actually happened.) Fortunately, a federal court thought otherwise, and Mexican-American history and culture are once again welcome in Arizona schools. Abe and Joe are joined by educator and activist Curtis Acosta, one of the founders of the program, to talk about the court case and the movement to silence non-mainstream cultural curricula in American classrooms.
