The program starts with a few songs about our relationship with God and the hereafter, from singers including Mahalia Jackson, Peter, Paul & Mary and The Three Pickers (Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson & Ricky Skaggs). Then there's a short visit with the folks of the British Isles.
The rest of the show illustrates how musicians help us travel through time and our lives. For example, John Gorka's Procrastination Blues (from his Bright Side of Down CD), Rosalie Sorrels Travelin' Lady, and James Taylor's Highway Song (from his Mud Slide Slim album). Lots to listen to.
There's 90 minutes of folk music every weekday morning at 5:30-7:00, followed by Democracy Now on your listener-supported community radio station. Thanks for listening!
