A number of bills in the Oregon Legislature this session are aimed at addressing police accountability and changing police culture.

KBOO's Ethan Sandweiss spoke with Maria Cahill, a volunteer from Pacific Northwest Family Circle, a group of Oregon and Washington familes who have lost a loved one to police violence and advocate for police accountability. The group is hosting a virtual town hall with State Representative Janelle Bynum on Thursday, March 11th, at 5 p.m. to discuss the bills in the legislature, and how they can further the goal of police accountability.
