On Tuesday December 7, 2021, Joseph Gallivan interviews cartoonist Shannon Wheeler about Forbidden Love, his show of cartoons submitted to the New Yorker magazine. Wheeler talks about the single panel gag joke, the value of waking up at night to jot down a joke, what it’s like submitting to Emma Allen at the New Yorker. Oh, and why a snail crawling toward salt is a metaphor for the pain and agony of being a cartoonist.
This show was edited by KBOO volunteer Ray Bodwell.
