The oldest cinema west of the Mississippi changes hands

Portland's Clinton Street Theater is a fabled community space and the oldest single-screen cinema west of the Mississippi river.  It's been fiercely independent for over a hundred years, bucking trends that have taken down huge corporate theater chains.

Aaron Colter and Susan Tomorrow are heading up a new collective that's assuming ownership of the Clinton Street in the wake of the Covid pandemic.  With Aaron's background in technology and Susan's connections in the Austin and Portland exhibition circles, they hope to usher the theater into the digital age, with access to live performance and socially-conscious gatherings.
