Please join us on Tuesday, July 11th at 6:00pm for Transpositive PDX on KBOO Community Radio 90.7fm as we talk with Debra Porta of Pride NW about the annual Portland Pride Festival July 15th and 16th on the Portland Waterfront and the Pride Parade July 16th as well as the Trans Pride March July 15th and the Dyke March July 15th. We will discuss the origins of Pride and what the Pride Festival means today in the face of corporate boycotts and hate legislation specifically targeting the LGBTQIA+ community. We will also touch on the recent wave of Trans and LGBTQIA+ migration happening in this country due to hate legislation being passed in some states and the need for housing and services in Oregon. Debra shares with us her very deep respect for the work that has built the community that supports the Pride Festival and the important engagement they do behind the scenes year-round to help support queer folks.
