On Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 11.30 a.m. Joseph Gallivan interviews artist Philip Krohn about the installation called High Water which is in Building 5, 2516 NW 29th Ave, Portland, on weekends through November 12. High Water is made from salvaged wood and rope and comes with a 40-minute soundtrack. Krohn is the leader of AUXART, an artist collective that combines large-scale sculpture installations with sonic theater.
This is Krohn’s third time talking about a new work on Art Focus with Joseph Gallivan. AUXART intends its sculptural environments to be the “aux” slot into which dancers and musicians can plug their work.
This show was recorded on Zoom videoconferencing software on October 29 and edited and engineered by Ray Bodwell https://kboo.fm/blog/55224

AUXART has invited these artists to be in response and conversation with AUXART’s installation, High Water. High Water speaks to the rising tides of global warming. Each evening of artists calls in distinct ways into presence, meaning making and unmaking, and in-the-moment choices that is at the heart of improvisational forms. They allow the spirit to move them as the rigorous, playful and contemplative strategies of embodied beings, objects, and sounds weave together a tapestry of experience.
