Host Glen Andresen and guest Jim Gilbert present a show recorded live in late October of this year. It's time to get those leaves on unplanted garden beds and around perennial plants, too. Leaves on top of the ground keep the microorganisms in your soil happy and active, thereby releasing nutrients. Plus, cold weather is upon us, time to take precautions to protect tender and potted plants. And, the latest about Jim and Joe's "An Oregon Story" documentary.
As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (mycorrizhal fungi...OK, we know it's not really a plant) and a new Garden Stumper (the winner gets a free sharpening of a hand tool from Cully Farm Store in Northeast Portland!). Plus, our Dirtbag Dictionary term is "sexual and asexual reproduction." And, of course, what's annoying Glen this month...or at least what he's been thinking about.
Don't forget, if you have a gardening question, and don't want to call in, you can always email us at [email protected] -- we'll answer your question on the air during the next show.
The Dirtbag, a garden variety show... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
