Policing Justice is an exhibition currently on display at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art that examines police violence in Portland and its relationship to longer local and national histories of oppression.
In addition to the multimedia art installation, the exhibition is accompanied by several programs taking place through March and April, including a symposium this weekend titled Policing in Portland: A Community Conversation.
We’re joined today by Nina Amstutz, Associate Professor of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of Oregon, who along with Cleo Davis curated the exhibition, and Mac Smiff, a journalist and moderator for one of the panel discussions.
Amstutz and co-curator Cleo Davis also appeared on KBOO's Tin Can Phone on March 5 to discuss the exhibition.
