A tribute to David Rea... and maybe a surprise interview with a power-pop semi-legend.

This afternoon on the 'Circle, I'll be joined by singer-songwriter Brian Cutean (QTN) as well as Terry Currier of Music Millennium. to discuss the career of the folk guitarist David Rea, who passed away in Portland last fall. David began his career in Canada as accompanist to the likes of Joni Mitchell and Gordon Lightfoot, was the musical director for popular folk duo Ian and Sylvia, played guitar for Fairport Convention, wrote Mountain's classic-rock radio staple "Mississippi Queen", and recorded an album with members of The Grateful Dead. Our spotlight falls on David Rea for the second half of the show, beginning at about 2:15. Sunday night at the Alberta Rose Theatre, there will be a free tribute concert to the man.

Before that, we may feature a phone interview with power-pop hero Tommy Keene, a legend among fans of the genre (pending confirmation).
