Red Lodge Transition Services

Karen James with Trish Jordan, Executive Director of Red Lodge Transition Services.  Native Americans account for less than two percent of Oregon’s population, but make up four percent of its prison population.  Working in the prisons as religious service volunteers who advocated for religious freedom and human rights, they recognized the need to bridge prison with community.  They formed Red Lodge that helps Native women rebuild their lives after incarceration, often helping them reconnect to Native spirituality and culture.
