Tonight, Vulture's Santuary, a lone cowboy, Big Bill Calahan, known as Big Mac, stops off in the lawless town of Capitan, for a drink in the saloon. Soon his plans for a vacation in California are foiled as he finds himself instead headed into a fortress like, mountain hideout to rescue a young woman from a band of desperadoes. But once there, he discovers that the leader of the gang, known only as El Bravo, is an old acquaintance with a long standing grudge against Big Mac. A classic pulp western by the master of adventure fiction, Robert E. Howard. First published in the November 1936 issue of Argosy.
