Laurie Lewis Special May 2, 2013, 12 noon to 1:30pm
The San Francisco Bay area was a hotbed of traditional and acoustic music, beginning in the 1960s. Starting with the Arkansas Sheiks and the Good Ol' Persons, Lauire Lewis started her own band, The Grant Street Stringband. For the last dozen years she and her partner, Tom Rozum have fronted her band, always attracting the highest quality musicians. Blending traditional and contemporary material, she has forged a unique sound. A limited number of One Evening In May, her brand new CD, recorded at the Freight and Salvage, the seminal acoustic venue in the Bay Area, will be available as a thank you gift for your membership. Tune in Friday, May 2nd 12 noon to 1:30. Only on KBOO!
