Three friends float down the Mississippi, recording sounds and stories on their paddlewheel riverboa
Though the story of The River Signal won’t officially begin until we hit the Mississippi in mid-June, we’ve spent the last month working on a multi-part prologue—a series of episodes that’ll both set the stage for our weekly broadcasts and give us a chance to hone our riverboat radio chops. And on Saturday, May 16th, at 6pm, we’ll be performing the first episode live (!) on KBOO 90.7.
The episode will be recorded on the bow of the Channel Princess, which we’ll have just hauled from the river on a flatbed trailer. It’ll be our first time using the gorgeous Myrtle microphone that the fine folks at Ear Trumpet Labs were gracious enough to loan us. And we’ll be recording it before an audience of friends, collaborators, and folks who have backed our (ongoing!) Indiegogo campaign.
The episode will air from 6 to 7pm PST on KBOO 90.7. It’ll also be streaming live at kboo.fm.
