On the cusp of the 2-year anniversary of the police shooting of Michael Brown and the subsequent uprising in Ferguson, Missouri, Denise Morrs talks with Don't Shoot Portland organizer and founder Teressa Raiford. She explains how Don't Shoot Portland was organized in light of events in Ferguson, inspired in part by the "hands up don't shoot" slogan, and talks about a public arts project hosted by Don't Shoot Portland at the Portland Art Museum. In the latter half of the interview, Teressa speaks to the broader economic and political project of the movement for black lives and the present struggle with police brutality.
