Facing Climate Change: Building Resilience at the Local Level: A Radio Documentary

The Digital Divide is off today. Instead we'll hear the documentary "Facing Climate Change."

Climate Change is in the air, and scientific groups are teaming up with their communities and local governments to better understand and prepare for what is in store.

"Facing Climate Change: Building Resilience at the Local Level" is a radio documentary that sets out to explore the work being done in the Pacific Northwest s Skagit Valley, which stretches from the snow-capped glaciers of the North Cascade mountains to the white-capped shores of the Salish Sea.

Central to these efforts is the Skagit Climate Science Consortium - a collaboration between faculty from local universities, scientists from private and federal agencies, and representatives from the Swinomish tribal community - as they work together to predict how climate change will affect our region, and to strengthen the resilience of both human communities as well as the natural systems we all depend on.
