Librarian Stereotypes
What do you think of when you hear the word "librarian"? Chances are the images that you conjure up immediately come from a variety of sources, including movies, TV, books, and other forms of popular culture, but they likely bear little relationship to what librarians do on a daily basis. Joining me for an examination of librarian stereotypes and the impact they have in the profession and on the communities we serve is Christina Steffy, Director of the Learning Commons at the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences and author of Librarians and Stereotypes: So, Now What?, published in 2015 by Crave Press.
