Multi-instrumentalist joins Paul Roland live in the studio
Multi-instrumentalist folk musician and activist Brenna Sahatjian is releasing her latest album, Knotted Orbits, on Thursday, March 15, coincidentally the same day she'll be on "Rise When the Rooster Crows." She'll co-host the show with Paul, spinning songs that have influenced and inspired her, as well as playing a few live on guitar and cello.
Sahatjian is known for her guitar and cello playing in Portland bands Strangeweather and Aradia, and she brings her collaborative sensibilities to her new solo effort as well. TJ Minich, of bands Spitalfield, Hang the Old Year, and Aradia contributed bass and drums to two tracks on Knotted Orbits.
Sahatjian has been performing original songs since the age of fifteen, and has been a touring artist since 2005. She has released several self-produced albums, collaborating with other DIY artists such as Actor Slash Model, Tin Tree Factory, Ryan Harvey, Shannon Murray and Mark Gunnery. As a member of the Riotfolk Collective (2004-2013) she completed several national and regional tours, raising money for social justice organizations and sharing the stage with other songwriters from around the country. She is currently involved in environmental and social justice work in Portland, OR.
She'll also be playing a show that same evening, March 15, at Anarres Infoshop in North Portland, along with Ryan Harvey from Baltimore, and fellow Portlanders Dogtooth & Nail. https://www.facebook.com/events/216934792187974/
