Tonight's edition of KBOO's spoken word show features Portland's premier satirist Dennis McBride and open mike instigator Mike G. Patrick Bocarde will attempt to host the proceedings.
Dennis McBride is a Portland-based free lance writer and loiterer. His work has appeared in the Oregonian, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, NBC Radio-Los Angeles, and various periodicals and poetry anthologies including Rain City Review, Talus and Scree, Broken Work Anthology-Vols. 1 & 2, and the Canadian magazine Open Minds and the California magazine Journal. He is the author of two books of poetry and satire, Looking for Peoria and Killing the Mockingbird (both from Quiet Lion Press). He was the recipient of the 1996 Andreas Berger award for poetry.
Mike G has been sniffing feet and flowers since before he crawled from Michigan's womb to write about it. The feet have been those of lovers. The flowers have been those of himself. In following the golden thread of where these obsessions lead him, Mike G tries his best to say and write the few true things he's been assigned to share with the rest of us.
