A conversation with Pedro Sosa, director Project Voice, the immigrant rights program of the American Friends Service Committee. This program helps communities in Oregon and Washington create Rapid Response Teams and provides Know Your Rights trainings that empower immigrants and their allies to advocate for just immigration policies.
We will also speak with the Rev. Ron Werner, an Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's pastor who works with the Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice (IMIrJ). Recently Ron Werner and twenty other religious leaders were arrested for blocking the driveway and front gate of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Portland while protesting President Trump's immigration policy.
