Join CBTU hosts Tina Turner-Morfitt, Dr. Audrey Terrell, Ms. Deborah Hall in a shout out to the World Arts Foundation, Inc. and their 34th Anniversary Tribute to life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Our guest will be Kenneth Berry, the Executive Producer of the annual celebration and Sunshine Dixon, the coordinator of the Victory Village Marketplace, which serves as the community networking showplace. The general theme of the daylong program reflects the voices of “ordinary citizens” and depicts the value of their “struggle for peace, social justice, civil rights and human dignity”. It “showcases outstanding expressions in song, oration, dance, and drumming” and a display of artistic creations all of which honor the lifetime legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The 34th Anniversary Tribute is scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Highland Christen Center located at 7600 NE Glisan Street and begins at 11:00 am. Our guest will highlight their passion to promote Black contributions via the merging of art and education resulting in a cultural “interactive, visual and performing media showcase of local and regional talent”.
