Please join us this week on Transpositive PDX as we speak with Gender Affirming Surgeons Dr Toby Meltzer and Dr Ellie Ley. They have decided to partner with Legacy Good Samaritan in Portland, OR to offer gender confirmation surgery, starting in the Summer of 2019. 

Dr. Toby Meltzer graduated from LSU Medical School in 1983 and is board certified in both General and Plastic Surgery. An active member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons,he started practicing at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1990 and began private practice in 1996 in Portland, Oregon. 

In 2003 he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to expand his practice with privileges at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Campus at the Greenbaum Surgery Center and Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Campus. Dr. Meltzer performs approximately 200 Genital Reconstruction Surgery (GRS) cases per year. He performs both MtF and FtM genital reconstruction surgery.

Dr. Ellie Zara Ley is an accomplished board certified plastic surgeon. After completion of training, Dr Ley became an assistant clinical instructor at the University of Utah. She enjoyed teaching the full breadth of plastic surgery to the new generation of young surgeons. She then moved her practice to serve southern Arizona before coming to Scottsdale to join Dr. Meltzer and his staff.

Transpositive is a monthly program in Portland exploring themes important to those who identify as Transgender, Gender Non Binary and Gender Non-Conforming. Transpositive tries to connect listeners with the ongoing activist, arts, culture, and dialogue happening in Portland and beyond. Transpositive plays on the first Tuesday of every month on KBOO radio in Portland, Oregon.
