Our guest today is Helen Riess, MD, author of the new book, The Empathy Effect: 7 Neuroscience-Based Keys for Transforming the Way We Live, Love, Work, and Connect Across Differences. Helen is an associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, TIME, NPR, HuffPost, and more.  Dr. Riess is changing the face of medical care—and the way we connect with others in our everyday lives. She co-founded Empathetics, Inc. providing innovative empathy and interpersonal training for medical professionals. She has devoted her career to teaching and research in the art and science of the patient-doctor relationship.
