Bill Resnick talks with John Talberth of the Center for Sustainable Economy about saving forests, reclaiming forests, and stopping cataclysmic global warming. Talberth has spent years mapping the remaining extent of ancient forests in the Pacific Northwest and Southwest and also participated in over a thousand administrative and legal challenges to logging projects that threatened to unravel these complex native ecosystems. He also worked on writing the Oregon Forest Carbon Incentives Act, which would prevent tax breaks from going to logging companies for land covered by clearcuts, logging roads, and timber plantations. He will be testifying for the Act at the legislative hearing in Salem Tuesday, March 26th, at 8:00am.
