If it's time to add to your home orchard, then now is the time to do some grafting. And now's the time to be getting those seeds ready to start inside, but way to early to plant most outside.

It's February, which means it's fruit tree grafting (and pruning) time and the beginning of seed starting time. We'll give you our best tips on what to do for success at each. And it's waaaay to early to be planting most veggies outside, but some can go out now. Which when? We'll let you know.

As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (rootstock); a new Garden Stumper--NOW with an actual prize for the first correct answer (one hand tool sharpened from Cully Farm Store in NE Portland); and define our Dirtbag Dictionary word, "compatible." And, if we have time, what's annoying Glen this month.

The Dirtbag... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
