One of many clean air days in L.A. since the pandemic started

With the world's economy shut down as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the air is cleaner in normally polluted cities around the world. On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with atmospheric scientist Heather Price about the lessons we can glean from seeing air pollution and carbon emissions decrease as we all stay at home. What data does this give us about the causes of pollution and best measures to reduce it once the economy restarts? On the other hand, how is the pandemic also lessening environmental protections in the short run?

Heather Price is an atmospheric chemist, climate scientist, researcher, educator and climate activist in Seattle Washington. She is co-Coordinator of the Chemistry Faculty Department at North Seattle College.
