On today's show, we welcome Ty Curtis, Oregon born-and-bred singer/songwriter/guitarist, to the neighborhood, coming to us all the way from his home in Austin, Texas. This is Ty's fourth guest appearance on the show, usually to preview the annual Portland Waterfront Blues Festival. The Festival, scheduled to run July 2nd through the 5th, was sadly but understandably canceled this year. Which gives us even more reason to Zoom in with Ty and find out how he's been sheltering in place during the pandemic. He'll play us a few tunes from his as-yet unreleased new album, and maybe an older song if we ask nicely.
This is a particularly difficult time for musicians, who make most of their income playing before a live audience. With music venues closed down, it's been a challenge for our favorite performers to stay afloat. We're all hoping they're back soon, and we're back there with them, enjoying live music again! Until then, please consider helping them out, with whatever you can spare. Ty has a PayPal account -- [email protected] -- and one on Venmo, as well -- tylercurtis31.
Hope we'll soon see better and more beautiful days in all our neighborhoods!
