Randy Porter Trio Plays Frishberg - Unsung; David Watson's New Birth of the Cool
A veritable who's who of world class Portland area musicians
strut their stuff today, including an overdue Dan Faehnle classic CD,
and Dave Frishberg, Anita O'Day, and Nancy King "singing the unsung" behind the trio..
We'll name them all; you won't need a scorecard.
Lennie Tristano opens with a Requiem first to those we have lost this year,
not including Johnny Mandel. Johnny passed June 30 after this show was recorded;
we'll do a memorial to him on our July 22 show,
and also give a musical goodbye then to the recently retired jazz fan,
and Blazer broadcaster, Kevin Calabro.
