Please join us this week on Prison Pipeline as we talk with Green Party Presidential Candidate Howie Hawkins as we discuss the police use of force and strategies for ending mass incarceration on Prison Pipeline. Hawkins, a longtime advocate of criminal justice reform, has advocated for issues such as the abolition of bail for misdemeanors and non violent felonies, an end to civil asset forfeiture without a conviction, re-establishment of the tuition assistance program for prisoners to enroll in community college, an end to long term solitary confinement and an end to felony disenfranchisement. In line with FCC equal access laws, the republican and democratic candidates for president have also been invited as will other candidates who qualify for the Oregon ballot to discuss issues as they relate to mass incarceration and criminal justice reform.
