Patricia Kullberg hosts the Old Mole which includes the following segments:

 

Will He Go? Bill Resnick interviews Lawrence Douglas, Professor of Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought at Amherst College about his book Will He Go?  Trump and the Looming Election Meltdown in 2020.  Douglas points out that Trump is desperate to stay in power and is setting up mechanisms to ensure he does. They discuss in the first part of a two-part interview why Trump will never concede and if he appears to be losing this November, how he and his forces and base could create a constitutional and political crisis in order to hold on to power. Resnick and Douglas agree that an effort to steal the election is the most likely scenario and that it could succeed. In part 2 to play next week they discuss how Trump can be stopped.

 

Moral Revival: Laurie Mercier speaks with Rev Dr. Liz Theoharis Director of the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights, and Social Justice and Co-Chair, with Rev William Barber, of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. They discuss the Poor People’s Campaign Moral Budget and Jubilee Platform, which call for investing in the welfare of all instead of in punishing the poor, and how poor and low-wealth people, the majority, are rising up to end the interlocking evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, and ecological devastation.

 

Crisis: Movie Moles Denise Morris and Jan Haaken discuss “Crisis: Behind a Presidential Commitment,” a 1963 documentary film by Robert Drew on the confrontation between the federal government and Governor George Wallace over desegregation at the University of Alabama. The Moles take up the lessons this documentary holds for the crises of the present, including ongoing struggles for racial justice in schools.
