Biden Victory Celebration Philadelphia

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have won the election and despite Donald Trump's ongoing hissy fits, tens of millions of Americans are celebrating this victory for democracy. Yet this victory is attenuated by the millions of Americans who still voted for Trump and the other leaders they have re-elected to federal and state offices who are intent on undermining the very tenets of democracy.

On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with energy expert and social justice advocate Jennie Stephens, author of Diversifying Power: Why We Need Antiracist, Feminist Leadership on Climate and Energy, about why the future we are about to enter calls for a new kind of leadership sprouting from the grassroots.

Jennie C. Stephens is the Director of the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs and the Dean’s Professor of Sustainability Science & Policy at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  She is also the Director for Strategic Research Collaborations at Northeastern University’s Global Resilience Institute, and is affiliated with the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program, the department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and the department of Cultures, Societies & Global Studies.

And finally some music to celebrate with.
