Sea Lion in danger
Animal rights activists have launched a 24-hour a day vigil to keep watch over sea
lions around the Bonneville Dam.
The sea lions are being trapped and slaughtered as part of a federal and state government plan to control their population.
According to Julie Farris of the Sea Lion Defense Brigade, the government’s program is both cruel and unnecessary:
The group is planning a fundraiser this saturday at the red and Black café on southeast 12th avenue in Portland.
And on April 10th, a bus will take supporters out to the Bonneville dam for a vegan faux fish fry in support of the activists’ work to stop the slaughter of sea lions.
