Please join us as we talk with Juan Chavez of the OJRC on the topic of Covid 19 in Oregon state prisons one year into the pandemic.  With more than 3000 incarcerated persons infected with the Coronavirus and 42 dead, Covid 19 has been a deadly and terrifying pandemic that has disproportionately affected people imprisoned in Oregon's state institutions.  The tragic part of this unfolding disaster is that much of it was avoidable if the Governor had followed the advice of scientists and health care professionals who urged taking measures to ensure social distancing in Oregon's prisons.  The Oregon Justice Resource Center has been at the forefront of public dialogue and litigation to protect incarcerated persons during this pandemic.  We will talk with Juan Chavez of the Civil Rights Project of the OJRC about where the state is right now in terms of vaccinations, get a lawsuit update and talk about how people are faring one year into the pandemic at Oregon state prisons.
