Best to wait until March to prune peaches and nectarines
Best to prune peaches after the weather settles in March. Plus what the heck is cambium? And Jim talks about his early trips to Ukraine.

Host Glen Andresen and guest Jim Gilbert offer up tips on pruning peaches and nectarines because March is the perfect time. Plus is it time to plant? Well, kinda. And we answer listener questions. Finally, Jim offers some recollections on his many trips to Ukraine, which began in 1990 when the country was still a part of the Soviet Union.

As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (Japanese flowering aprict) and a new Garden Stumper (and the winner gets a free sharpening of a hand tool from Cully Farm Store in Northeast Portland!). Plus, our Dirtbag Dictionary term  is "camium layer."  And, of course, what's annoying Glen this month.

Don't forget, if you have a gardening question, or the answer to the Garden Stumper, you can email us at [email protected] -- we'll answer your question on the air during the next show! Furthermore, you can record a voice memo of your gardening question on your phone and email that to us. We will play it on the air next month and answer your question.

The Dirtbag... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
