On today's episode, we welcome Buzzy Donahue, a deejay on our sister community radio station, KPTZ in Port Townsend, Washington. Buzzy is radio royalty. Her dad is the legendary Tom “Big Daddy” Donahue who pioneered free-form radio back in San Francisco in the late 1960s. In fact, Buzzy got her start, when just a teen, working with her dad at KMPX in the Bay Area, then moved behind the mic herself when Tom took the reins at KSAN.

We’ll follow Buzzy from those heady days in the Haight, where she mingled with Sly Stone, Hendrix, and the Beatles, to her respite from radio in Maui, and then her return to the airwaves in Port Townsend. It’s an incredible journey! And Buzzy’s voice and presence, which may very well be genetic, shines through in every story. Big Daddy would be proud!
