Please join us on Monday, January 30th at 6:30 pm for Prison Pipeline on KBOO Community Radio as we talk with Jesse Nevel who is the National Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, the mass organization of the African People's Solidarity Committee.
Jesse met the Uhuru Movement when he attended a workshop led by APSC Chairwoman Penny Hess in Sarasota, Florida and he joined USM a few months later at an event in St. Petersburg where he saw Chairman Omali Yeshitela speak about the historic struggle to free Africa and African people.
Since then he has organized under the leadership of the African People's Socialist Party to win unity through reparations from the white community, whether as an on-the-ground organizer or as a mayoral candidate.
Prison Pipeline is a radio program dedicated to educating the public about the Oregon criminal justice system. Our goal is to present a unique understanding of the criminal justice system, address the root causes of crime, and challenge the status quo. We seek to promote awareness and activism in order to foster a safe, healthy, and just society. Tune in every Monday at 6:30 P.M. to hear our hosts Karen James, Adam Carpinelli, Emma Lugo, and Doug McVay explore the Oregon justice system with a variety of guests.
