Brian Hawes and Venu Mattraw, Teamster drivers for Maletis Beverage distributors, voted along with their driver, warehouse and sales co-workers, to authorize a strike, which could happen as soon as early-April. Low wages, attacks on their pension plan and unfair labor practices by this local, family-owned company, have brought workers to fight back. These Teamsters are looking to beer drinkers, taverns, convenience stores. breweries and community supporters across the Portland area to stand with them should they need to hit the picket line.
