Poets Jodie Marion and Brittney Corrigan read

Brittney Corrigan and Jodie Marion walk the tightrope of employment, mariage and childrearing while performing a dazzling juggling act with poems that skillfully dance between family and children and the the larger 21st century world we move in. On tonight’s Talking Earth they read their poems, joined in conversation by Penelope Scambly Schott and Barbara LaMorticella.

Jodie Marion’s chapbook, Another Exile on the 45th Parallel, won the Floating Bridge Poetry Prize and is forthcoming from Floating Bridge Press in September 2012. Recent poems have appeared in Best New Poets 2011, Narrative Magazine, The New Guard Literary Review and elsewhere. She lives in Vancouver, Washington with her husband and four wild children and teaches at a community college in Oregon.

Brittney Corrigan was raised in Colorado but has called Portland, Oregon her home since 1990. She holds a degree from Reed College, where she is also employed. She is the poetry editor for the online journal Hyperlexia: poetry and prose about the autism spectrum (http://hyperlexiajournal.com/). Brittney’s poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, and she is the author of the collection, Navigation, published by The Habit of Rainy Nights Press (2012), and the chapbook, 40 Weeks, published by Finishing Line Press (2012). She lives with her husband Thomas and their two children. For more information, visit Brittney’s website: http://brittneycorrigan.com/.
