Tom "Hollywood" Hood and Denny "Lo-Ryder" Hays among several special guests
The KBOO jazz legacy was begun in 1968 with zither player Ern Hood
hosting the first FM show in Portland devoted strictly to jazz.
Ern's son, Tom Hood, now KBOO's Chief Engineer,
produces this special show . From 2 to 3:30 pm, we'll feature Ern's unique music,
that of Ern's brother Bill Hood, a prominent jazz baritone sax performer
with big name bands from the 1950's, and likely that of more Hood family members,
including Tom's own sounds, and Grandma Hood's from KEX in the 1920's.
Stories will abound.
After the 3:30 jazz calendar, Mike Horsfall, Rebecca Kilgore,
and Ellen Vanderslice guest to preview their upcoming release this Sunday
of their new CD, "Moonshadow Dance".
Hope you'll join us.
Your host,
Bob Riddle
