Pam and Mike Africa on the History of MOVE

Democracy in Motion is off today. Instead we'll hear an episode of Sprouts featuring  Pam Africa, the human rights activist with MOVE, the Philadelphia-based black liberation group which was founded in 1972 by John Africa. In 1985 Philadelphia police dropped a bomb on a MOVE house in a residential neighborhood, leaving 11 dead — including five children.
Pam Africa, joined by her brother Mike Africa, appeared on Pacifica affiliate WIOF-LP Woodstock 104, in Woodstock, New York on January 16, 2016.

And later in the hour we'll hear attorney Lynne Stewart giving the keynote speech at the 20TH ANNUAL DINNER TRIBUTE TO BLACK POLITICAL PRISONERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
