In the aftermath of the November election, Unions are facing a host of challenges. On April 8th 2017 Labor Notes was in town for the Portland Troublemakers School to help union members and Organizers understand and learn to fight back against such challenges as Right to Work legislation, Republican lead Healthcare reform and School privatization. Elizabeth Theil, Vice President of Portland Association of Teachers participated in the workshop “Labor in the Trump Era: The Big Picture”. She discussed the very real threat of privatization to public schools nationally and in Oregon.
