KBOO News In Depth: David Hattner of the Portland Youth Philharmonic

It’s the holiday season, a time when most of us look forward to the traditional music and concerts that help put us in a reflective and joyful mood.

One such tradition is the Portland Youth Philharmonic’s annual Concert-at-Christmas, which this year takes place Tuesday, December 26^th at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.

To find out more about the Concert-at-Christmas, we welcomed David Hattner, Musical Director of the Portland Youth Philharmonic. David discussed the remarkable 94-plus year history of the orchestra, the goal of the PYP to become an orchestra for the people, and the program for this year's Concert-at-Christmas, which has been a Portland holiday tradition since 1961!
