Join us for a discussion with environmental action groups Oregon Wild and Bark about the interconnectivity of forest health and climate change.
"Forest Defense Is Climate Defense" is a new report released in October by Oregon Wild (formerly the Oregon Natural Resources Council). The report compiles the latest research on forest-carbon, and explains how the most effective action Oregon can take to combat climate change is to change our forest policies.
Oregon Wild is partnering with diferent groups around the state to present a series of educational forums about the relationship between the climate and our forests.
Next Tuesday, December 4th, the presentation will be in Portland.
To joining me in the studio are Brenna Bell, and Alexander Harris.
Brennan Bell is Bark's Staff Attorney & Policy Coordinator. She is passionate about the Pacific Northwest. Her involvement with Cascadia Forest Alliance and the campaign to save Eagle Creek led her to Lewis & Clark Law School, where she graduated cum laude.
Alexander Harris is Oregon Wild's Public Lands Organizer based in Portland. Originally from southern Oregon, Alex now works to protect the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument and other public lands from the threats of development, extraction, and privatization.
